Key To Finding Work From Home Job: Be Persistent

Are there really any work-from-home moms these days? Well, if you are wondering about this, as many moms are, the answer is "Yes." I, like you, at one point in my life dreamed of being a work-from-home mom, but didn't really know how to make that dream a reality. I checked out every website I could find on the subject, but couldn't really find anything that worked for me. (In recent years, finding work-from-home opportunities has gotten much easier). But back in the day, I can remember a few friends trying the old "envelope stuffing" ideas, the "ad placement" ideas and many others, with no success...However, I was lucky enough to manage to secure a full-time work-from-home position (that paid a weekly, full-time paycheck) for five years. That position ended when I stopped working after my youngest child was born. So ladies it is possible. Don't give up! Just think outside the box...When I landed my work-from-home job, I basically did so by accident. I was looking through my local newspaper and noticed an ad for a "reporter wanted." I had always loved to write so I thought this would be perfect for me, but I have four children and paying a daycare for four children would cost me more than I could possible earn. So I decided to send an email to the editor asking whether the position could be work-from-home. After several days and no reply, I decided to send a second email, still no reply. A few days later I was sort of upset that I hadn't at least gotten the courtesy of a response. So I sent a third email, this time the email was blunt and to the point about how the company would be out of their collective minds not to hire me, because I was a top notch employee...Well, a couple days later, I got an email from the editor saying, "Sorry I hadn't replied to your earlier emails, I was on vacation." Oops! Oh well, it worked. Guess he admired my moxy or something because I got the job. A job that I loved and worked for five years....So don't give up ladies, just be smart!
